NBBF invites 44 to camp ahead FIBA Zone 3 Championships

Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced the call-up of 44 players (male and female) to camp ahead of FIBA Africa Zone 3 Championship in Accra, Ghana.
NBBF also announced that one of its coaches, Humphrey Fubara would lead boys U-16 national team, while Sampson Shotimini will guide U-16 girls national team.
The list, as announced by NBBF will include U-16 boys and an equal number of U-16 girls to camp for the two junior national teams ahead of the FIBA Africa Zone 3 Championship taking place in Accra, the Ghanian capital later this month.
The players were carefully selected after the national trials in Abuja last month and in Lagos early this month.
The players who have started to arrive their Moshood Abiola Stadium camp site will have the next 10 days to prove to their coaches why they should make the final roaster to Accra.
The boys listed for the camping program are:
Babatunde Abdulsamad, Adielle Worship, Lewis Uvwo, Unekwe Ekene, Nwabude Success, Bolarinwa Oluwaseyi, Ibrahim Ayomide, Zuka Isah, Egbujor Moses, Iwundu Daniel, Divine Okebe, Abraham Sambo, Madu Aminu Mohammed, Ameh Emanuel, Haruna Sale, Joseph Killian, Clinton Nnadozien, Ahmed Kachalla, Delight Opara, Edeh Emmanuel, Augustine O.J and Victor Moses Ebo.
The Head coach of the boys team, Humprey Fubara, will be working hand in hand with Anodona Zakaa, while Sampson Shotimini will be leading the girls, and Taiye Adeniyi will be his assistant.
The 2023 FIBA U-16 African Championships, Zone 3 qualifiers for U-16 boys and U-16 girls, hold later this month in the Ghanaian capital city of Accra between June 19 to 24.
The President of FIBA Africa Zone 3, Retired Col. Sam Ahmedu, says the winners in both categories will advance to the Final Round of the 2023 FIBA Africa U-16 Championships, slated for the cities of Monastir and Sousse in Tunisia from July 13th to 23rd.
The National teams of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Niger, Nigeria, Togo and host Ghana will field teams.
The 8th edition of FIBA U-16 African Championship will serve as a qualifier for the 2024 FIBA U17 World Championships.
The winner and the runners-up will punch their tickets for next year’s World Cup.
