The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) announced Port Harcourt as the host for the 2023 Nigeria Premier Basketball League Final 4 on Thursday.
The quartet of hosts—Rivers Hoopers, Nigeria Customs, Gboko City Chiefs, and Hoops & Read—will slug it out for the title in Port Harcourt from November 22 – 26 in a round-robin format, having emerged from their respective Conferences.
According to the NBBF, the games will commence on Nov. 23.
The winner, determined after the round-robin games, will qualify to represent Nigeria in the 2024 African Basketball League (BAL). Kwara Falcons represented the country in the last edition of BAL, but they were unable to advance past the Savannah Conference in Dakar, Senegal.
The last time Rivers Hoopers played competitively in front of their home fans was in 2017. Port Harcourt hosted the final 8 thirteen years ago in 2010.
