In the Eastern Conference Championships, the Miami Heat ended the Boston Celtics' incredible comeback by winning the decisive game 103-84 to go to the NBA finals.
As the Heat advanced to this year's championship, Jimmy Butler shone with 28 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. The Heat had led the seven-game series 3-0 before falling behind 3-3.
The Heat will face the Denver Nuggets in the best-of-seven championship series. The eighth-seeded team is the first since the New York Knicks in 1999 to get this far.
The opening game will take place on Friday in Denver.
"We stayed together as a group," he said.
"We talked about going to get a tough one on the road and we did just that. [My team-mates] are the reason we're here. I know how good a team we are and we made it happen."
Erik Spoelstra, the Heat's head coach, said he never questioned his team's tenacity.
"Sometimes you have to suffer for the things you really want," he said.
"This group has shown fortitude when there are inevitable let-downs and failures, but had that perseverance to pick yourself up, that collective spirit to keep on forging ahead."
The Heat are going for their fourth NBA championship and first since 2013, while the Denver Nuggets, who defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Playoffs, are going for their first crown.
