Miles Bridges signs $7.9 million contract with Hornets, ending legal troubles
Posted : 03 July 2023
NBA player Miles Bridges, who faced legal troubles last year due to assaulting his wife in the presence of their children, has signed a one-year contract with the Charlotte Hornets. The deal, worth $7.9 million, was finalized on Sunday night. It should be noted that at the end of this season, Bridges will become an unrestricted free agent.
In June 2022, Bridges was arrested following his wife's public disclosure of injuries sustained from the assault, which included evidence of asphyxiation, concussion, and bruising on her ribs and neck, supported by emergency room documents.
He was released on bail amounting to $130,000 the following day. Bridges faced three separate domestic violence charges but maintained his innocence. As a result of the incident, he received a suspension and will be sidelined for ten games in the upcoming season.
