Kwara Falcons set to defend NBBF crown in Akure

The Kwara Falcons Basketball Club announced on Thursday that the team would storm Akure, the capital of Ondo State, on Friday in preparation for the Nigeria Basketball Premier League Final Four qualifying series.

To qualify for the Akure competition, Kwara Falcons emerged as the top team in the Ibadan zone of the Atlantic Conference, where seven out of eight supposed teams competed for a spot in the top four qualifiers from the zone.

Kwara Falcons led the four qualifiers from the Ibadan zone, having won five and lost one in the round-robin games.

The other qualifiers from the zone are Comets, Hoops, and Oluyole Warriors.

Four qualifiers from the Asaba zone of the Atlantic Conference, including Rivers Hoopers, Lagos Legends, Police Baton, and Delta Force, will join the Ibadan qualifiers in Akure to compete for the two top spots for a place in the Final Four.

The Final Four will consist of the top two teams from the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences to determine the league champions.

Kwara Falcons is the defending champion of the NBBF Premier League.
