Kristaps Porzingis remains officially listed as questionable for Game 4 of the NBA Finals, and the Boston Celtics have not provided much clarity on his status for Friday's crucial matchup. Porzingis, who missed Game 3 due to a rare lower left leg injury, did not offer additional comments to reporters, leaving uncertainty surrounding his availability for the upcoming game.
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla remained tight-lipped about Porzingis' situation, indicating that Thursday's injury report will be the closest thing to official word on his status for Game 4. Despite Porzingis' absence, Boston managed to secure a 3-0 series lead against the Dallas Mavericks, edging closer to their 18th championship title and surpassing the Los Angeles Lakers.
Porzingis, standing at 7-foot-2, suffered a dislocated tendon in his left leg during Game 2, an injury termed as "serious" by Mazzulla. The Latvian star played a pivotal role in the first two Finals games but has been sidelined since then, initially missing 10 playoff games due to a strained right calf.
The injury occurred in the third quarter of Game 2 when Porzingis collided knees with Dallas rookie center Dereck Lively II while going for a rebound. With Al Horford starting all three Finals games and Xavier Tillman Sr. stepping up in Porzingis' absence, the Celtics have adapted to playing without their star, though they acknowledge the impact of his presence on the court.
