Kevin Durant May Miss the Remainder of the Regular Season and Playoffs

Posted : 05 April 2023
Upon injuring his ankle during the pregame warmup for the Phoenix Suns' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant may miss the remainder of the regular season, according to sources.

The 13-time All-Star was driving to the hoop when he rolled his left ankle while jumping, as shown on video. The Suns eventually announced that Durant would miss the game, but he promptly stood back up and resumed his pregame preparations.

The former Brooklyn Nets star would have been playing his home debut for the Suns. Instead, he sat on the sidelines, with Torrey Craig taking his place as his team-mates secured a 132-101 win over their opposition.

A walking boot was later seen on Durant, raising questions about his future condition.
Recent sources state that there are worries inside the Suns organization that he may have a grade two sprain and may miss the rest of the regular season as well as the beginning of the playoffs.

The slide, though, served as a reminder of the 34-year-lengthy old's absences due to injuries during the previous four seasons. Due to an Achilles injury, Durant was sidelined for the entirety of the 2019–20 season. He missed few games this season because of a sprained knee ligament. The severity of an ankle injury may now be worse than first thought.

Fortunately, the Suns, who are fourth in the West with a 37-29 record, are in a strong conference position and are not likely to slip outside the top six. They can now concentrate on providing Durant the care he needs, but they will have to compete without one of the best players in the game if he misses some of the postseason run.
