Karim Nesba leads NBA Academy 84-64 in BAL Elevate Showcase

NBA Academy on Tuesday, May 23, beat Espoir 84-64 in a warm-up game at Lycee de Kigali.
The match, which is being held as part of the BAL Elevate Showcase programme, is one of several events taking place in conjunction with the third-season playoffs of the Basketball Africa League.
Aurore Mimosa Munyangaju, the minister of sports, Victor Williams, the CEO of the NBA in Africa, John-Manyo Plange, the vice president and head of strategy and operations at the BAL, and Desire Mugwiza, the president of FERWABA, were among the attendees.
The lads of Karim Nesba won the opening two periods 20-15 and 25-16 to lead 45-31 at the break.
NBA Academy kept its advantage as the teams reconvened for the second half, taking the third quarter 23-16. Espoir won the last frame 17-16, but not by enough to secure the title.
NBA Academy won both of the warm-up games it played over the weekend.
They include a convincing victory against the Tigers (68-50) and a victory over the Kigali Titans (67-58). Before the BAL finals conclude on Saturday, May 27, NBA Academy is anticipated to play a number of more matches.
