Israel wins fourth FIBA U20 European Championship Final, facing France

Israel has advanced to the Final of the FIBA U20 European Championship for the fourth time in five editions and is set to face France in the title game on Sunday.
In the first Semi-Final, Israel displayed a strong performance, defeating Belgium 67-46. Four players combined for 48 points, with Daniel Wolf leading the way with a remarkable double-double of 17 points and 18 rebounds, and Noam Yaacov contributing 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Despite struggling with three-point shooting, Israel excelled with 50 points in the paint and a 55.6 percent shooting rate from two-point range.
In the second Semi-Final, France dominated tournament hosts Greece with a resounding 98-51 victory. After a close first quarter, France took control with a 38-11 run to end the first half. Their bench outscored Greece's 45-12, with Ugo Doumbia leading the way with 8 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Maxime Raynaud was the top scorer for France with 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting.
In the relegation bracket, Estonia's loss to Croatia means they will drop down to Division B for next year's event. They will be joined by the loser of the upcoming game between Montenegro and Croatia.
Top performers of the day included Daniel Wolf, who played a crucial role in Israel's journey to the Final with 17 points, 18 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Davide Casarin led Italy to a 12-point victory with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Duje Brala was instrumental in Croatia's win against Estonia, contributing 25 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in just 20 minutes of play. Despite the loss, Iceland's Almar Atlason had an outstanding game with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals, including 6-of-13 three-pointers. Ugo Doumbia's solid all-around performance with 8 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals also helped France secure their spot in the Final.
