Following NBA Finals, Conor McGregor has been charged with sexual assault

Conor McGregor, a UFC fighter, has been accused of sexual assault by a woman following an NBA Finals basketball game in Miami. The alleged incident is said to have taken place in a bathroom at Kaseya Center, according to a legal letter sent to McGregor.
 
In response to the allegations, McGregor's lawyer stated that they are false and that McGregor will not be intimidated. The City of Miami Police has confirmed that an investigation has been initiated.
 
Both the UFC and the Miami Heat, the host of the NBA Finals game, have acknowledged the allegations and stated that they are gathering more information. Ariel Mitchell, the woman's lawyer, claims that her client was watching game four of the NBA Finals before the incident occurred.
 
According to the legal letter, the woman was allegedly forcibly taken into a men's bathroom by NBA and Miami Heat security guards, where McGregor is accused of sexually assaulting her in a violent manner.
 
The letter further alleges that the woman managed to escape the bathroom but left behind her purse, which she later retrieved after pleading with security guards. It also suggests that the security personnel for the league, team, and arena assisted and facilitated McGregor by trapping and isolating the woman in the bathroom.
 
Ms. Mitchell stated in an interview that she has obtained video footage that partially captures the alleged incident. The City of Miami Police has received a report regarding the incident, but no additional information can be disclosed at this time due to the ongoing investigation, according to a police department spokeswoman.
 
McGregor made headlines during the NBA Finals for striking the Miami Heat's mascot during halftime, reportedly as part of a promotion for a pain relief spray he was endorsing.
