Eurobasket Women 2023: Montenegro and Czech Republic reached the last eight of the competition

In Monday night's Qualification for the Quarter-Finals games, Montenegro secured a victory over Italy, earning a spot in the last eight of the competition.
They will now face France. Similarly, the Czech Republic emerged victorious in a thrilling game against Greece, setting up a clash with Hungary.
Montenegro's comfortable double-digit win over Italy came as a surprise to many. Jelena Skerovic and her team dominated the game, securing a 63-49 victory. They took an early lead of 29-10 and maintained their dominance throughout.
Milica Jovanovic's remarkable performance, with 17 points and 8 rebounds, played a crucial role. Teenager Marija Lekovic contributed 15 points, while Natasha Mack showcased her skills with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
This is Montenegro's third time reaching this stage, having done so in 2011 and 2015.
Despite having an average age of only 24, the Czech Republic surpassed expectations with a thrilling 79-76 win over Greece in the Qualification for the Quarter-Finals in Tel Aviv.
The team displayed great teamwork, with their bench players contributing an impressive 41 points. Veronika Sipova scored 15 points, and young players like Emma Cechova and Dominika Paurova made valuable contributions.
Petra Holesinska played a crucial role, finishing with 19 points and 8 assists, including a perfect 8 out of 8 from the free-throw line. Czech Republic will now face Hungary on Thursday in Ljubljana, while Greece's journey ends.
Notably, Mariella Fasoula recorded 26 points and 13 rebounds, and Artemis Spanou added 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists for Greece.
