The Milwaukee Bucks saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end with a 104-119 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. Despite a strong start, with a 10-point lead early in the game, the Bucks couldn't hold on as the Hawks rallied for a fifth consecutive victory.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 31 points, while Damian Lillard added 25, but Jalen Johnson and De'Andre Hunter contributed 23 and 20 points, respectively, for Atlanta. The Bucks will next face the Boston Celtics, while the Hawks will play the LA Lakers.
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a heavy defeat to the Miami Heat, losing 134-93, marking their worst loss of the season. Miami’s Tyler Herro had an outstanding performance, scoring 31 points, including 21 in the third quarter.
The Heat also set a franchise record with 42 assists and equaled their record for the most three-pointers in a game with 24. This defeat follows a 29-point loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and leaves the Lakers with a 12-10 record for the season.
Lakers coach JJ Redick called the performance "embarrassing," expressing frustration over what he described as a lack of fight and professionalism from his players. This loss marked the Lakers' sixth in their last eight games, which includes their elimination from the NBA Cup.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics, despite being without Jayson Tatum, defeated the Detroit Pistons 130-120, and the Orlando Magic bounced back from a heavy loss with a 106-102 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Elsewhere in the NBA, the LA Clippers suffered another defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves, losing 80-108 for the second time in five days. The Brooklyn Nets secured a 99-90 win over the Indiana Pacers, continuing their strong form.
