Boissy hopes BAL heroics will lead to NBA Summer League spot

Jean-Jacques Boissy, the outstanding player for AS Douanes, hasn't had much success, if any, in getting American clubs to take notice of him. However, he believes that leading his side to an unexpected Basketball Africa League final will alter that.
In this week's BAL semi-finals, the club from Senegal shocked the full Kigali stadium by defeating pre-tournament favourites Petro de Luanda.
Boissy, 23, was instrumental in that slim victory by making 16 of his 17 free throws and leading the team in scoring with 28 points.
Boissy said: "They couldn't find me a scholarship in the US - I don't want to talk much about it - and then Amadou Gallo [Fall, BAL president] texted me and helped me out and he was like: 'I have a good university in Rwanda, African Leadership University. You could go there. You could play basketball at Patriots.'
When questioned why he didn't receive any college offers from the US after graduating from the NBA Academy in Senegal, he still has a sharp tongue despite all of his brilliance on the court during these playoffs and at the Sahara Conference in Dakar in March.
