Benin agog as Zenith Womens Basketball League comes alive

All is now set for the Zenith women's basketball league in Benin.

The Elite league event will involve top female basketball team in Nigeria.

Africa Sport Network  (ASN) reports that most of the participating teams have arrived the ancient city of Benin for the 10-day event billed for the Sam Ogbemudia stadium.

The President of Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Musa Kida said he was delighted that the Federation was holding its first female competition since it's inauguration.

He enjoined all participants of a great championship and exciting moment during thier stay in Benin.

The NBBF President, Kida, assured the basketball stakeholders that the Federation was poised to organise a memerorable tournament.

"The Zenith league will afford the federation the opportunity to pick players for the female national team.

"We are duly set for the Zenith League, we appreciate our sponsors, Zenith bank for the believe and confidence they have in us.

"Our federation will ensure all participants enjoy thier stay in Benin.

"We are hoping for the best in terms of officiating and excitement.

"These are the top female players in Nigeria today," he said.

Some of the participating teams are First Bank, DeepWater, Delta Force, Sunshine Queens, Raptors Female team, Bini Queens, MFM basketball team, Dolphins, among others.
