Bordeaux's chances of being promoted from Ligue 2 are in jeopardy after their last game of the year was called off when a supporter assaulted a player for Rodez.
A pitch invader knocked over midfielder Lucas Buades as he was celebrating giving Rodez the lead in the 22nd minute.
The game was called off after the referee declared Buades had sustained a concussion and carried him away on a stretcher.
In order to gain promotion, Bordeaux needed to outperform Metz, and Rodez need a win in order to stay in the division.
Friday's Ligue 2 matchups' last round was being played at the same time, and Metz defeated Bastia 3-2 to advance into second place behind winners Le Havre.
As a result, Bordeaux would need to defeat Rodez by four goals in order to surpass them on goal differential.
However, Rodez was on track to earn the victory that would have kept them in the division when Annecy suffered a 1-0 defeat against FC Paris.
