AfroBasket Women Championship: D’Tigress records emphatic win over Egypt

Nigeria's senior Women's basketball team, D'Tigress have their place in the quarter finals of the AfroBasket Women championship in Rwanda with a massive 83-65 victory over Egypt.
The defending champions recorded 83 – 74 pts over their Group D opponent at the BK Arena
D'Tigress' Amy Okonkwo scored 29 pts 13 rebounds and 4 assists to emerge as the game Most Valuable Player, she scored 20pts out of her 29 pts in the first half of the game.
Amy Okonkwo was clutch after dropping 29 points to lead all scorers and 13 rebounds, 4 assists. She was perfect from the free throw line and was 11 for 11.
Murjanatu Musa contributed 18 points and 7 dimes. Meral Abdelgawad dropped 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists for the Egyptians but it wasn't enough to give them a second victory in as many games after overcoming DR Congo on Saturday.
The defending champions out rebounded the Egyptians 71-34 and shared the ball more 21-14; while they shot 35 per cent from the field and 21.7 per cent from deep.
D'Tigress are seeking to win the afrobasket women championship for the fourth consecutive time.
