Rivers Hoopers continued their perfect run in the 2024 Nigeria Premier Basketball League, improving to a 10-0 record with a 90-62 victory over Nile University Spartans in their final Group B game.
It was a game that decided the group winner, as both teams had already qualified for the semifinals with two wins each.

In three consecutive games, Kelvin Amayo was once again instrumental in the Hoopers' victory, scoring 21 points, recording 5 steals, and making 3 three-pointers.
The top performer in the game, Ifeanyi Koko, scored 13 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, provided 6 assists, and had 3 steals, while Michael Daramola added 12 points, including 2 of 3 from behind the arc.
Amayo scored 18 points in the first half, along with 5 steals, leading the Hoopers to a 49-32 lead at the break.
He hit a deep three-pointer to start the third quarter, but the Hoopers, who struggled offensively early on, later found their rhythm and outscored the Spartans 21-7 to lead 70-39 going into the fourth quarter.
Despite a late fight from the Nile University Spartans, it was too little, too late, and there was little they could do to turn the game around.
The KingsMen will play the Gboko City Chiefs in the semifinals on Sunday at 5 p.m., while the Nile University Spartans will face Hoops and Read at 3 p.m.
