Tobi Amusan claims third title at Nigeria Trials

Tobi Amusan, hailed as the star of the championship, delivered a truly sensational performance at the ongoing Nigeria Trials in Benin. 

Displaying her extraordinary speed and unwavering skill, Amusan blazed through the track with exceptional finesse, clocking an impressive time of 12.70 seconds to secure her third consecutive national title.

Despite concerns that her demanding Diamond League schedule in Lausanne and Stockholm might prevent her from participating, Amusan's unwavering dedication to her country shone through as she proudly represented Nigeria. 

With the empty stadium bearing witness to her remarkable feat, she effortlessly dominated her heat and continued her winning streak in the final, leaving her competitors in awe as she sprinted over 10 meters ahead of the second and third-placed finishers.

Amusan's commitment to national and continental competitions has solidified her reputation as an exceptional role model for aspiring hurdlers within Nigeria.

Anticipating further success, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) is keen on persuading the world champion to join the 4x100m relay squad, as the team strives to cement its position and secure a spot at the highly anticipated World Championships in Budapest. 

The AFN recognizes the immense value and expertise Amusan would bring to the relay team, enhancing their chances of achieving greatness on the global stage.

Should her participation in the relay not materialize, Amusan will redirect her focus towards her preparation for the world title defense in Budapest, while also prioritizing her upcoming appearance at the Silesia Diamond League in Europe.
