Oyo cyclists Ajibade Ibrahim and Akinola Destiny emerged victorious in the U-18 and Under-15 male categories at the 3rd Ibadan Cycling Competition held in Ibadan.
Ajibade Ibrahim won the 20km road race with a time of 34:21, followed by Wale Aina in second place with 34:40, and Ikatt Victor in third place with 35:11.

In the U-18 female category, Ikatt Eunice took first place, followed by Azeez Medinat and Olawale Peace. In the Under-15 female category, Obadara Adeola, Azeez Asanat, and Aminu Olamide secured the top three spots.
Akinola Destiny won the 16km road race in the Under-15 male category with a time of 30:32, ahead of Arogundade Mujeeb, who finished with 30:65.
Younger cyclists also made their mark, with Adam Bello and Aminu Olamiposi winning the 10km race for U-10 male and female, while Hamzat Adam and Ajibade Fatia took the top spots in the 5km race for Under-5 male and female.
The competition drew 120 cyclists from Oyo, Osun, Lagos, and Ogun and was organized by Lapet Feats in collaboration with the Oyo State Cycling Association to discover and develop cycling talents across the South-West zone.
Convener Adebayo Olawale expressed delight at the event's success, saying, "I'm thrilled to see what we have achieved in promoting young cycling talents. The competition was fiercely contested, allowing participants to identify their strengths and weaknesses."
Looking ahead, Olawale stated, "In 2025, we aim to enhance cycling talent discovery and development in Oyo State by building on our strengths, addressing weaknesses, and expanding initiatives."
