NYG 2023: Katsina State to parade 82-member team

The contingent of 82 athletes, coaches, state sports council officials are to participate in the 7th National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba, Delta State, the official has confirmed.

The State Director of Sports, Alh Abdullahi Bello, expressed confidence in the athletes that made up the state's contingent at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

The state contingent are expected to participate in 11 sport disciplines, including golf, badminton, weight lifting, boxing, athletics, Judo, and fives, among others.

The Sports Director also charged the State contingent to be excellent ambassadors for the State during their stay in Asaba and to refrain from any actions that may degrade Katsina State's reputation.

Audu Bello then asked the contingent to be focused throughout the games and bring back gold medals when they returned home.

He also thanked the state governor, Mal Dikko Umar Radda, for his continued support for the growth of sporting activities in the state.
