Following her outstanding performance at the Northeast Zonal Gymnastics Championships in Bauchi, where she clinched three gold medals in floor and vault and emerged as the best all-around athlete representing Gombe State, 13-year-old Kwaranga Munyal is now aiming higher. With her eyes set on representing Nigeria at the upcoming international gymnastics championship in Singapore, Munyal is determined to make her family, state, and country proud.
Reflecting on her achievements, Munyal expressed gratitude to her supportive parents and highlighted the significance of the Northeast Zonal Gymnastics Championships in promoting the sport's growth in the region.
Despite some logistical challenges, she sees it as a promising start and believes organizers can address shortcomings in future editions.
Looking ahead, Munyal is focused on excelling at the Singaporean tournament and has her sights set on the 2028 Olympics.
She acknowledges that there's still work to be done and is determined to continue improving, aiming to perform well at upcoming events like the Youth Games and the National Sports Festival.
Munyal also hopes for support from her state governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, to alleviate the financial burden on her parents and enable her to pursue her gymnastics dreams through scholarships, similar to initiatives undertaken by other governors for gymnasts in her club in Abuja.
