This diverse team showcases Nigeria's commitment to excellence and sportsmanship on the global stage.

According to the Ministry, the composition of the Nigerian Olympic team is detailed across various sports categories. Athletics leads with the largest contingent, comprising 35 athletes who will compete in track and field events. This includes renowned athletes like Amusan, Brume, and Ofili, who are expected to lead the charge in securing medals for Nigeria.

In addition to Athletics, Nigeria will field teams in Women's Football, Women's Basketball, Wrestling, Table Tennis, Boxing, Canoeing, Weightlifting, Aquatics, and Cycling, each contributing significantly to the nation's representation at the Games. These athletes have undergone rigorous training and preparations to ensure they are in peak condition for the competition.

Notably, Nigeria has a proud legacy at the Paralympic Games, where the country has consistently excelled. With a robust history that includes 40 gold medals, 19 silver medals, and 21 bronze medals, totaling 80 medals overall, Nigeria's Paralympic athletes are poised to continue their tradition of success in Paris. The Paralympic contingent will compete across four sports, aiming to add to the nation's impressive medal tally.

The announcement underscores Nigeria's commitment to sports development and excellence across all levels of competition. The Sports Ministry and NOC have worked tirelessly to support and nurture these athletes, providing them with the resources and facilities needed to compete at the highest level. This holistic approach to sports management ensures that Nigerian athletes are well-prepared mentally, physically, and tactically for the challenges ahead.

As preparations intensify in the lead-up to the Paris Olympics, Team Nigeria remains focused on achieving podium finishes and making the nation proud. The athletes carry with them the hopes and aspirations of a nation, driven by the desire to showcase their talents and represent Nigeria with dignity and honor on the international stage.

The 2024 Paris Olympics represent not just a sporting event, but an opportunity for Nigeria to demonstrate its sporting prowess and resilience.
