Posted : 03 February 2025

Noah Lyles and Grant Holloway showcased their dominance at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix meeting in Boston on Sunday, with both American athletes taking top honors in their respective events. Lyles, the reigning Olympic and world 100m champion, powered to a victory in the men's 60m with a time of 6.52 seconds, outpacing the Bahamas' Terrence Jones (6.57s) and PJ Austin (6.60s).

Italy's Marcell Jacobs, the 100m Olympic champion, finished fourth in 6.63 seconds. Lyles reflected on the challenge of moving past his victory in Paris, focusing on transcending his sport and solidifying his status as the world's fastest man.

In the men's 60m hurdles, Grant Holloway extended his remarkable 11-year unbeaten streak in indoor hurdles with a victory in a season-best 7.42 seconds. Holloway, the reigning Olympic 110m hurdles champion and three-time world champion, finished ahead of Fred Crittenden and Cordell Tinch, both of whom clocked 7.54 seconds. Holloway, who has not lost an indoor hurdles race since 2014, spoke about running to build his legacy, motivating younger athletes, and continuing to perform at the highest level.

Elsewhere, Masai Russell claimed victory in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 7.80 seconds, narrowly beating Grace Stark (7.81s) and Devynne Charlton (7.85s). In the women's 300m, Olympic 100m gold medalist Julien Alfred dazzled with a commanding win in 36.16 seconds, comfortably ahead of Britain's Dina Asher-Smith (36.87s) and France's Emma Montoya (38.37s). Alfred’s victory marked a highlight for St. Lucia, adding to her historic Olympic success.

Rai Benjamin, the Olympic 400m hurdles champion, dominated the men's 300m with a win in 32.21 seconds, holding off Vernon Norwood (32.39s) and Matthew Boling (32.82s). With several standout performances, the meeting demonstrated the strength and talent of athletes who are looking ahead to an exciting competitive season.
