The National Women's Volleyball Camp, under the guidance of the Technical Adviser of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Alexandra Boskovic, has come to an end.
Africa Sport Network (ASN) reports that 15 players from various clubs in the Nigeria Volleyball Premier and the Division 1 Leagues were gathered at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) to gather more skills and techniques ahead of major championships.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Volleyball Coaches Association, Elishama Elam, who doubles as the head coach of the Nigeria U-19 Girls team, led four other FIVB coaches to mentor the players.
The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod, revealed that the national camp is part of the training programs set aside by the Technical Adviser. Nimrod said the national camp will help improve the tactical aspects of the players, adding that it is an advantage for some of the players participating in this month's African Club Championship in Tunisia.
He urged the coaches present to transfer knowledge from the national camp into their various academies and clubs.
Players at the just concluded national camp include Sharon Achi, Esther Mbah, Noami Yaro, Chilotah Marvellous, Fadilah Ibrahim, Dorcas Isaac, Aisha Sadiq, Mariam Ibrahim, Charity Joseph, Mariam Usman, Ayisat Abdulrahman, Sarah Ali, Mirabel Onyegwu, Deborah Chukwu, and Ifunanya Udeagbala. The coaches include Elishama Elam, Oluwabukola Faremi, Ijeoma Ndudi, Abdullahi Ibrahim, and Kayode Aboderin.
