MTN CHAMPS 3: Blazing Blessing Ezeh clinches double gold

Magical Blazing Blessing Ezeh of Vision High School, Nnewi, stunned fans and supporters at Season 3 of the MTN Champs by claiming two gold medals in shot put and discus in the Youth (Under-17) category.


On day one at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Blessing threw 10.56 meters to claim gold in the shot put final and later threw 25.53 meters on Friday to secure her second gold in the girls' discus final.


Last year, at Season 2 of the MTN Champs in Asaba, Blessing won gold in the female discus and a bronze medal in the shot put. She was clearly elated to have improved her performance.


She credited her school for its role in her achievement and praised her coach, Bakam Alpha Godwin, for his support and encouragement.


Blessing also acknowledged the encouragement she received from her mother, who has continuously pushed her to train and excel in the sport.


Also representing Vision High School was Favour Obiefuna, who won silver in the girls' long jump, and Victor Emmanuel Okenwa, who secured gold in the boys' discus final and silver in the shot put final.


Mary Chioma Edeh and Obiefuna Favour won gold and silver, respectively, in the triple jump final.
