Mohamed Oumaarir of Morocco won the men's race at the Belfast Marathon, and Shewaye Woldemeskel of Ethiopia took first place in the women's race.
Oumaarir completed the race in two hours, 22 minutes, and 54 seconds. Welshman Adam Bowden arrived second in 2:23:26.
Bernard Rotich, the 2017 champion and early favorite, finished third in 2:26:03.
Gladys Ganiel, a local runner, finished fourth in 2:37:20, four minutes behind Woldemeskel who won with ease.
Gadise Negasa of Ethiopia finished third with a time of 2:44:24.
Athlete Ganiel of the Commonwealth Games won the women's race last year, but she was content with her second-place finish on Sunday with a timing of 2:41:20.
"It went really well. I was two minutes faster than last last year when I won," she said.
"I was happy with the way I paced it and I was able to pick people off in the second half of the race.
"We had a better international field this year - it was a tougher competition and I'm really pleased to come second. The winner was just classier than I was."
Up until the last five miles, Oumaari, Bowden, and Rotich were confined to a three-man leading group.
While Bowden followed the Moroccan as he pulled away, Rotich unexpectedly lost steam and fell far behind.
