McColgan acknowledges that winning the World Championship is under probability due to injury

According to Eilish McColgan, winning gold at the World Championships this summer is a "pipe dream," thus she is concentrating on breaking the 10,000m 30-minute barrier.
Her knee issue prompted the 32-year-old Scot to withdraw from the London Marathon last month, but she is now on the mend.
At the weekend, she resumed light training, and she now believes that winning gold in Budapest in August is less possible.
"That would exceed my goals right now because of the setbacks," she said.
"I think it would be a pipe dream right now, but I am not going to set myself any real limits.
"To be in Budapest and be at the start and healthy would be a big achievement to be honest."
"My big thing this year would be to break the 30 minutes in the 10k," she added.
"I think there are only 12 women in the world who have done that - it would be a big achievement for me.
"Earlier in the year, I had no doubt I could break 30 minutes. Now there is a little bit of a doubt because I haven't been able to train for the last so many weeks."
"To be in the top six fastest women in the world - that would be a great achievement," she said.
McColgan won the 10,000m gold medal at the 2021 European Championships, followed by the gold medal in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, before making history in March of this year by breaking the previous British mark of 30:00.86.
One advantage for McColgan is that she was able to focus on finishing her rehabilitation and achieving her best time because her knee ailment did not require surgery.
