Lamont Marcell Jacobs won't compete in Rabat's 100-meter race against Fred Kerly

Lamont Marcell Jacobs, the Olympic 100-meter champion from Italy, claims a back issue will prevent him from competing against American Fred Kerly in the sprint.
On May 28, the duo was slated to compete in a Diamond League competition in Rabat, Morocco.
Jacobs declared a "slight lumbar-sacral block that I plan to resolve as soon as possible".
He added: "Technically I feel fit and ready to have a great season outdoors. The challenge is only put on hold."
The two may cross paths at the following Diamond League competition on June 2 in Florence, Italy.
As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo were held in 2021, and Jacobs unexpectedly won the gold medal by defeating Kerly.
When he ran 9.80 seconds, he became the first Italian to win the competition.
Last year, Kerly took home the gold in the World Championship because Jacobs was out with an injury.
