No fewer than 200 para-athletes from Lagos are currently in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for the second edition of the 2023 National Para Games, as stated by the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC).
The contingent, consisting of 148 male and 52 female athletes, is in excellent form, ready to compete for honors in their respective disciplines.
The Lagos state government, through the State Sports Commission, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that people living with disabilities are given the opportunity to showcase their God-given talents, aligning with social inclusion programs and initiatives.
They will participate in 15 different sports, including para table tennis, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, para athletics, amputee football, para shooting, and para swimming.
Others include para soccer, para canoeing, para cycling, wheelchair tennis, para powerlifting, para taekwondo, para karate, and para badminton.
The para festival is scheduled to take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja and other designated venues.
