Kwara dominate 2023 Bet9ja Delta State National Teqball Tour medals table

The Kwara State players dominated the maiden edition of the Bet9ja Delta State National Teqball Tour, which ended on Sunday.
The colourful competition has left many unforgettable memories in the hearts of the fans. Africa Sport Network (ASN) reports that the event, which lasted four days, was held at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba from May 10 to 13.
It had over 10 states that participated in spite of the fact that the game was new but was one of the fastest-growing sports in Nigeria. A contingent from Kwara State emerged winners after dominating the medals and their appearance in the finals of all five events.
The dominant Kwara State defeated Taraba in the men's doubles final 2-0 to clinch the gold, just as they also took out Edo in the mixed doubles final 2-0 and went on to also win the gold in the women's singles final following a 2-0 win over Edo.
Kwara State won the gold in the men's singles as Nigeria's number one and world's 34th-best tennis player, Victor Oyemade, defeated fellow Kwara State player and Nigeria's number 5, Funsho Samsudeen, 2-0.
While the pair of Gladys Abasi and Success Eke of Edo State, against all odds, defeated the Kwara State pair of Rashidat Salau and Shade 2-1 to win the women's doubles to the celebration of the fans at the venue, Kwara State also won gold and silver in the men's double, while host Delta State could only win the bronze medal in the women's single.
In third place, Edo state representative Uyi Amengor of Teqball Club snatched the bronze medal in the men's double with a 2-1 win over Ogun State.
Speaking after the presentation of medals and winning prizes to the various winners, Bet9ja Ambassador and former African Footballer of the Year, Victor Ikpeba, said Teqball had come to stay and commended the organisers, players, and sponsors for their efforts.
"Teqball has come to stay in Nigeria; I enjoyed myself today. Let me thank the Delta State Sports Commission for their support, my brother Marvel Dick, who is the Delta State Teqball chairman, for this great feat, and I must also commend the Nigeria Teqball Federation."
"We hope for a bigger and better edition next time, not to forget the winners, players, and officials; please be disciplined and keep up the good work; the future is bright for you all," Ikpeba stated.
On his part, the General Secretary of the Nigeria Teqball Federation, Mr. Edede Ndudi, thanked the host state of Delta for a successful event. "I want to thank Delta State for a wonderful and colourful ceremony.
This is your show; other states should take a cue from Delta.
" I am impressed with what I have seen here since my arrival. I want to thank everyone that has made this possible, the host, the organizers, and our sponsors" Ndidi posited.
Rounding up the special evening with his votes of thanks, Delta State Chairman Teqball, Marvel Dick, thanked all the various chairmen, states, and sponsors who were part of the success storey in Asaba, Delta State.

Earlier, branded jerseys were given out to all the finalists by the sponsor Betnaija, led by Delta State Teqball chairman Marvel Dick and assisted by the SSA to Delta State Governor on Sports, Mr. Lucky Sunday.
