Eugene Amo-Dadzie becomes the fastest 100m runner in Europe

Eugene Amo-Dadzie, known as the "world's fastest accountant," received a surprise visit from UK Anti-Doping officers requesting a urine sample shortly after returning from his successful trip to Austria.
Despite starting athletics at the age of 26, Amo-Dadzie's remarkable 9.93-second performance in Graz has made him the fastest 100m runner in Europe this year and fourth on the British all-time list.
As a full-time accountant without sponsors or funding, Amo-Dadzie humorously appeals to sportswear companies for support.
His athletics journey began in 2018 when he attended a local track meeting with a friend after playing football. Realizing his potential, his friend encouraged him to pursue sprinting seriously.
Although Amo-Dadzie had shown natural speed throughout his life, he never pursued it seriously. He competed in secondary school, achieving a personal best of 11.3 seconds in the 100m, but never received proper training or joined a local club.
While studying at the University of Nottingham, his plans to join the athletics team took a backseat to other priorities.
Amo-Dadzie's late start in athletics and remarkable recent performance have garnered attention, making him an intriguing figure in British sprinting.
