Doha Diamond League: Dina Asher-Smith is eager to compete against world champion

Dina Asher-Smith of Britain says she is looking forward to competing against some of the top athletes in the world at the Diamond League's opening game in Doha.
On Friday, Shericka Jackson, the current world 200m champion, will compete in a competitive 100m field with Asher-Smith.
During a successful indoor season, the 27-year-old broke the British 60-meter record with a time of 7.03 seconds.
"I'm very much a competitor so I love challenging races," Asher-Smith said.
"I don't think you improve without running against the best in the world."
In a difficult 2022, Asher-Smith lost her grandmother Sislyn before the World Championships. She earned 200-meter bronze, but came in fourth in the 100-meter, and pulled up when racing in the 4x100-meter relay due to a hamstring injury.
She had to skip the Commonwealth Games due to that injury, and then her dreams of winning the 100-meter final at the European Championships in Munich were dashed by calf cramps brought on by her period.
She defeated Jamaica's Jackson, who had previously won the silver medal in the 100 meters in Eugene last summer, to win the 60 meters at the World Indoor Tour Final in Birmingham in February.
