Dina Asher-Smith set to compete in London Stadium Diamond League

On July 23, the 100-meter race at the London Stadium Diamond League event will be run by British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith.
Her participation will play a significant role in her preparations for the world championships in Budapest, Hungary, in August.
In her most recent race, Asher-Smith, 27, finished second behind Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the 100 metres at London Stadium during a Diamond League competition in 2019.
"To be back competing in the London Stadium will be very special," said the former world 200m champion.
Asher-Smith established the then-British record for the 100m in 10.99 seconds in 2015 at London Stadium.
Since then, she has taken home medals from the Commonwealth Games, World and European Championships, and Olympic Games.
"I cannot wait to race in front of the amazing home crowd," she added.
"It is always great to compete on this stage in the UK, and after four years away from the stadium, all the athletes are really looking forward to putting on a show for the fans.
"I have some fantastic memories in the stadium, so it will be amazing to hopefully add more to those in July. With the event only a few weeks before Budapest, it will also be a key race in my preparation."
Budapest hosts the World Athletics Championships from August 19–27.
