Diamond League: Christian Coleman broke a world record in 100m in Xiamen, equaling Lyles' 9.83 seconds

In the women's 1500m, Coleman was fourth, while Ethiopia's Lemlem Hailu and Australia's Linden Hall finished third. Coleman, who won the 100m at the World Championships, reflected on his performance and the opportunity to bounce back. Kenya's Emmanuel Wanyonyi won the men's 800m, while Jamaica's Hansle Parchment won the 110m hurdles.
 
Kenya's Beatrice Chebet won the women's 3,000m in 8:24.05, and Victoria Ohuruogu finished fifth in the women's 400m. The Diamond League series continues in Brussels and the United States with the finals in Eugene, Oregon, on September 16-17.
Christian Coleman clocked the fastest 100m time of the year, matching Noah Lyles' 9.83 seconds and Zharnel Hughes' British record. He outpaced Jamaica's Kishane Thompson to secure victory in Xiamen, a redemption from his fifth-place finish at the World Championships.
 
In the women's 1500m, Melissa Courtney-Bryant finished fourth, marking the best British result at the Diamond League event. Ethiopia's Lemlem Hailu won the race, with Linden Hall of Australia taking third.
 
Coleman took an early lead and maintained his pace, narrowly holding off Thompson by two hundredths of a second, while USA's Fred Kerley finished third.
 
Emmanuel Wanyonyi of Kenya claimed victory in the men's 800m, besting Canada's world champion Marco Arop with a world-leading time of 1:43.20. Britain's Daniel Rowdon and Ben Pattison finished fifth and ninth, respectively.
 
Jamaica's Olympic champion Hansle Parchment won the men's 110m hurdles, with American Daniel Roberts in second and world champion Grant Holloway in third.
