Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan faces a charge by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for an alleged violation of missing three tests within 12 months, just ahead of the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Amusan took to her Instagram to deny the allegations, vowing to challenge the charge and have her case decided by a tribunal before the championships, asserting her status as a clean athlete who is regularly tested by the AIU.
As she prepares to clear her name, Amusan has requested privacy from the media during the upcoming arbitration.
Her fans hope she can defend her world title after a successful season with three consecutive victories.
Under World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules, three whereabouts failures within 12 months can result in a two-year ineligibility sanction, subject to possible reduction depending on the degree of fault.
