Team Nigeria on Wednesday produced another stellar performance at the ongoing 7th Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) in the Caribbeans, with Samuel Ogazi winning the men's 400 meters Gold medal in a time of 46.99 Secs.
Samuel's winning time was almost a full second, ahead of winner of the Silver medal, Austin Malachi of Guyana who was 2nd with 47.97 Secs and Beck Alexander of England who clinched the Bronze by finishing in 3rd position with 48.20 Secs.
Another Nigerian youngster in the final, Olawale Olanrewaju, finished in 7th spot, with a time of nearly 49 secs.
Team Nigeria are competing at the games being held in the Port of Spain, capital of Trinidad and Tobago with 25 athletes, aged between 14 and 18 years, and occupies 8th position on the Games medal table with 3 Golds and 1 Silver medal.
Australia sits at the summit of the log with 13 Gold, 12 Silver and 10 Bronze medals. England is second with 9 Gold, 12 Silver and 5 Bronze medals, while Africa's best performing nation at the games is South Africa, whose 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze medals put them at 4th.
