Bayelsa State’s Commissioner for Sports Development, Honourable Daniel Igali, said he was brimming with excitement over the thrilling performances of Team Bayelsa at the ongoing Niger Delta Sports Festival in Uyo.
At the games, Igali conveyed the heartfelt pride of Governor Douye Diri, who hailed the Bayelsa athletes for their “remarkable” showing so far. With the festival heating up, he couldn’t hide his joy over the team’s grit, passion, and consistency.
In his goodwill message, Igali applauded the athletes’ efforts, adding that Governor Diri was thoroughly impressed with how Bayelsa continues to raise the bar in sports development.
“As the festival hits the home stretch, we’re rooting for you all the way! Bayelsa is already storming the handball and basketball finals — both men and women — and there’s still more action ahead in wrestling, athletics, and beyond,” he said.
“On behalf of the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, I commend you for your stellar performances in Uyo.
You’ve made Bayelsa proud, once again stamping our authority as a true sports powerhouse in the Niger Delta.”
“But while we celebrate these amazing feats, remember — the mission isn’t over yet. Stay focused. Keep the fire burning. We’re behind you every step of the way!”
